Budget tax relief change means business at The Connacht Property Auction

The Connacht Property Auction is expecting strong interest at its November 11 auction due to the Budget announcement regarding capital gains tax relief. The capital gains tax relief means buyers who purchase properties in 2014 will not be liable for capital gains for the first seven years of ownership. This relief will come to an end on December 31 and The Connacht Property Auction is expecting strong interest in properties due to this upcoming change. The auction team are now inviting entries for the ongoing online auctions and the November 11 auction.

The Connacht Property Auction now taking entries for November auction

The third Connacht Property Auction of 2014 was held on September 18 in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway. The auction team noted strong interest in the lead up to the auction and indeed most of the properties on offer were successfully sold. Interestingly there were in excess of 300 recorded viewings on the various properties in the lead up to the auction which shows the pick-up in demand for properties. Of the 23 properties on offer, there were six properties in Galway and seven in Mayo, along with properties in Clare, Roscommon, Leitrim, and elsewhere around Connacht.

The second Connacht Property Auction of the year was held on June 12 in the Clayton Hotel, Galway. There was strong interest in most of the properties with the Connacht Property Auction noting it undertook more than 200 viewings on the various properties in the lead up the auction. There were six properties in Galway sold along with properties in Mayo, Clare, and elsewhere around Connacht.

The first Connacht Property Auction of 2014 was held on March 26 in the Clayton Hotel, Galway. Some 120 buyers turned up to the auction with interest in the 22 lots on offer, and there was strong interest in almost all of these.

Strong interest at first Connacht Property Auction

The first Connacht Property Auction was held on November 14 at the Clayton Hotel in Galway. A large crowd attended the event and bidding was strong on the majority of the properties. Of the 27 properties offered, 22 were sold and the auction team confirmed that there have been further offers and bids on three of the unsold lots. More than €2,000,000 worth of property from across the region was sold at the sale and the reserve prices were well exceeded on many of the properties on offer.
